It Was a Festivus for the Rest of Us

As I write this, I'm sipping on a rum and Diet at my work computer. That's right, I said work computer! Just one of the many perks of working in Boulder...everyone understands the desire to have alcohol on Fridays :) Don't worry, I'm not driving home, Nate is.

So let's see...today, amidst shipping out the Christmas presents and putting out 1.75 fires, I ate an unpictured apple (y'all don't need to see me eat the apple, right? I was thinking we all kinda knew what an apple looks like :) and this delightfully creamy sweet potato:

I just poked it a couple time with a knife and heated it up in the microwave for 12 minutes wrapped in a damp paper towel, and voila! Perfectly cooked sweet potato that requires no added flavor. Now that's my kind of lunch!

I totally meant to do something with the tomatoes, but by the time I was able to cook them it was almost time for Festivus to begin (no tinsel, it's distracting ;)

I made sure to do some pictures of my Friday treats for y'all, but I'm pretty proud of myself; I only ate the cookie! Hurray for not gorging myself on delightful sweet things:

The Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookie:

And the Chocolate Toffee Shortbread:

I headed upstairs for Festivus and lo and behold, a smorgasbord of sandwich and hors d'oeuvres! Below is my plate, loaded with two bean sprout/cheese/tomato/spinach/cucumber pinwheels, some carrots and broccoli with ranch dip, and some chips with fresh guac!

I'm starting to get to the point where, yes, fatty sweet things sound great (don't they always?) but fresher options are definitely becoming more appealing. I think that's a good place to be, don't you?

Since this is just a quickie post between work and home, I'll finish off with this (fuzzy) shot of the Festivus party in the admin wing of the building. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyone else have any more thoughts on the transition from Blogger to Wordpress? If you can't sign in to leave a comment (again, a big reason to move), feel free to email me at hdisarro@yahoo.com for the time being!

  1. I used to use blogger, but then when I got a domain I moved to Quick Blogger on Godaddy. I am not in love with it. I have been fiddling with wordpress, but cannot figure it out for the life of me, its very different from blogger. You could always start a wordpress blog and work on getting it how you want it before you commit to moving over. You can buy a domain like I did and have a website name and tie it back to blogger or wordpress. I'm not 100% sure how to do it, but I know it can be done, there are articles out there. I am looking to move. I know that there is an upgraded wordpress that is like $87 a year and I am contemplating using it...good luck, its all very confusing.
