As Kath says, Marnin'!
Before I say anything else, make sure you check out my husband's photography blog!
Man, today is a cold a dreary day! Can you believe it was about 35 degrees when I got out of bed this morning (outside, not inside) and that was HIGH for today? Yep, you read that right. There's a snow storm a'blowing in, and it will probably be in the teens when I leave work today. Yikes!
Breakfast we another Green Monster, this time with some chocolate Amazing Grass, as recommended by the Dallas Celiac:
In the mix there's the packet of Amazing Grass, 1 cup milk, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 a banana, and 2 handfuls of baby spinach:
It's pretty good! A little bitter, but then you get the chocolate and banana flavors and it's all good again. Glad I got 2 packets to play with!
I made some Pumpkin Yogurt after seeing Caitlin make some yesterday. I totally forgot about it, but with my purchase of canned pumpkin at Whole Foods I was super excited to make some! I'm going to eat it with the last of my Pink Lady apples later today.
This recipe is from Caitlin's blog, but basically it's 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, 1/4-1/3 cup of canned pumpkin, and a bunch of cinnamon. Then just stir it all together and enjoy!
So, this morning I put on a pair of freshly washed and dried jeans and BLAH. There's nothing that makes you realize how far you have to go on the weight loss journey than a pair of washed and dried jeans! I was so proud of myself all week for eating well and exercising, and those jeans just shot my confidence down a couple notches (bang! bang!)
Anyone have a little pick-me-up advice on this cold and dreary (and slightly depressing) day?
I certainly hope y'all are having a good one :)

Hi Heather - I keep seeing your blog pop up in Facebook and I finally stopped in for a visit...and now I've lingered so long that it's almost 10:30 and I haven't done an ounce of work! But you asked for a pick-me-up... While on your blog, I clicked through to the Healthy Tipping Point, and just loved it, then came across Operation Beautiful...which is maybe just the reminder you need today: You're Beautiful Just the Way You Are! You are beautifully and wonderfully made!
ReplyDeleteAnd finally, a friend of mine was featured in a blog post. Emily's letters make me smile every day. If Operation Beautiful didn't help, maybe this will make you smile: http://alittlebear.blogspot.com/2009/11/emily.html
Have a great day!
Tight jeans, schmight jeans! join the club! ;) don't let it be your idol of the day.
ReplyDeletelove you!
sorry you're having a blah day. :( whenever i'm feeling icky, i make sure to carve out and hour or so at night to settle down to relax & watch a good movie & flip through magazines. it gives you something else to concentrate on & something to look forward to all day.
ReplyDeleteGet out there and exercise! The endorphins will have you feeling peppy and the calorie burn will help you fight those snug pants. And smile, studies have shown that the act of smiling alone can improve your mood tremendously. :-)
ReplyDeleteTight jeans can really make the heart sink. Such was my story Sunday morning after a weekend of rich food and drinks. Or if you're working out hard, muscle increase, perhaps..
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your email today! Ugh, washed and dried jeans are the WORST!! Thanks for adding me to you blog roll! I'll be adding you after my sushi dinner date!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Aren't pink ladies the BEST! So sweet.
I hate freshly dried jeans... makes you wonder if you've been sleep eating all week!
